These images are a part of a series concerning family history and how photography is used as a medium for remembering and also forgetting. My work is a generational take on Steichen’s Family of Man exhibition. These archival family photographs reflect the fact that we share the same emotions and experiences over and over again. There are striking similarities in what we photograph and that unites us. In telling the story of my own family history, I would like to show how it shares in the story of humankind.
